| Spanish abstract | Las colecciones biológicas tienen un alto valor biológico, ecológico y hasta cultural, ya que nos han ayudado a conocer y describir la biodiversidad en el planeta. La Colección Nacional de Mámiferos (cnma) es el acervo de mamíferos silvestres más completo de América Latina en cuanto a la diversidad de especies que resguarda, ya que esta colección cuenta con un gran número de ejemplares de toda la República Mexicana y algunas partes del mundo. La cnma cuenta con un gran acervo de ejemplares del estado de Chihuahua, con una buena cobertura geográfica, los cuales están disponibles para la comunidad académica, para realizar estudios y tener un acercamiento más certero sobre la variedad de estos organismos que habitan en los ecosistemas del estado |
| English abstract | Biological collections have a high biological, ecological and cultural value, because they have helped us to understand and describe biodiversity worldwide. The Colección Nacional de Mámiferos (cnma) is the most complete collection of mammals in Latin America, in terms of the diversity of species housed; this collection has the greatest number of specimens from throughout the Mexican Republic and some parts of the world. The cnma has an extensive collection of specimens from the State of Chihuahua with a good geographic coverage, available to the academic community to carry on research and to have a more accurate approach about the variety of organisms that can be found in the state’s ecosystems |
