English abstract | We will examine the objectives, profiles and governance of Intercultural and Indigenous Higher Education System. Our hypothesis is that, twenty years after its creation, IIHE has improved its institutionalization degree, in terms of regulation, administration and resources. But it is still an emergent field, characterized by internal and external conflicts and it received “pioneer’s” students. Albeit the social and political interest for IIHE in the XXI century and the academic productivity of specialized researchers on diverse matters, it is hard to evaluate its results and effects because of the lack of systematized data |
