| Spanish abstract | La tragedia, en cuanto culminación de las artes, es para Sche - lling algo más que un concepto puramente estético, es la ex - presión simbólica de una libertad absoluta que implica el reco - nocimiento de la necesidad o el mal, apunta a la reconciliación del Yo con sus aspectos irracionales y señala el lugar que el individuo ocupa en la sociedad y en el universo. En este artí - culo se estudia el concepto de tragedia en La filosofía del arte y sus desarrollos anteriores, para mostrar que constituye la llave que da continuidad a la futura evolución del pensamiento de Schelling, donde la historia aparece como dramático campo de batalla entre el reverso tenebroso y el lado luminoso de Dios |
| English abstract | Schelling ́s idea of tragedy as culmination of the arts is some - thing more than a purely esthetic concept, it is the symbolic expression of an absolute freedom that implies the recognition of necessity and evil, points to the reconciliation between the I and its irrational aspects and indicates the place occupied by the individual in the society and the universe. This article studies the concept of tragedy in The Philosophy of Art and its previous developments to show that it can be considered as explicative key to the continuity of Schelling ́s future thought, where History appears as dramatic field of battle between the dark and the light side of God |
