English abstract | This work analyses the genesis and development jurists’ opinions regarding the assumption that, in the common law system, the méritos y servicios were passed to heirs and that, in certain cases, it was possible to transfer them by means of inter vivos acts. This belief progressively led to the “patrimonialization” of the concept, that is, to consider it as an asset, a part of the heritage of those who had acquired it or lent it. This belief was put into practice in a Castilian case which is analyzed in the specific case of jurists that performed in offices with jurisdiction |
