Spanish abstract El presente trabajo tiene como finalidad realizar una breve reflexión sobre el concepto de Educación para la Salud (EpS), que tiene, como todos los acontecimientos y manifestaciones sociales, una historia que no puede explicarse aislada del contexto histórico y social determinado donde se produce, y en la que se deben considerar sus límites de tiempo y espacio, así como identificar los principales modelos que se utilizan en la práctica educativa, sus características y argumentación paradigmática para entender el sentido y dirección del hecho educativo en salud, sus objetivos y finalidades, además del papel del educador y el rol que se le asigna al educando en el proceso educativo
English abstract The purpose of this article was to realize a brief reflection on the concept of Education for the Health, which takes a history as all the events and social manifestations, and this cannot be explain isolated of the historical and social context where it takes place, considering his limits of time and space. As well as to identify the main models that are utilized in practice educational, its characteristics and paradigmatic argument, to understand the sense and direction of the educational fact in health, its objectives, and the role of the educator and the role that it is assigned upon educating in the educational process
