| English abstract | The use of self-portraits and portraits as techniques of phototherapy and therapeutic photography has benefits that are connected with the motivation to know the world from another perspective, contributing to self-knowledge and the stimulation of creativity. Both techniques are relative to the link with one's body image from two different positions of power that can influence the people who participate in their practice. It is proposed that recognizing and integrating into the visual image is a new way of facing life, where we become not only observers, but participants in a process of creation that acts as a visual tool and reveals what protects the subject, being exposed and amplified as signs that reveal the ethnicity, skin color, age, gender, moods, among others. |
| Spanish abstract | El empleo de autorretratos y retratos, como técnicas de la fototerapia y fotografía terapéutica, posee beneficios que se conectan con la motivación para conocer el mundo desde otra perspectiva y contribuye al autoconocimiento y la estimulación de la creatividad. Ambas técnicas son relativas al vínculo con la imagen corporal de uno mismo, desde dos posiciones de poder diferentes, que pueden influir en las personas que participan en su práctica. Se plantea que reconocerse e integrarse en la imagen visual es una nueva forma de enfrentarse a la vida, donde nos convertimos no solo en observadores, sino en participantes de un proceso de creación que actúa como herramienta visual y pone al descubierto aquello que resguarda el sujeto, siendo expuestos y amplificados como signos que develan etnia, color de piel, edad, género, estados de ánimos, entre otros. |
