Resumen en inglés This article presents a robust documentary analysis of the concepts of human security and multidimensional security, their focus on protecting human rights, differences in the state"s role for this purpose, and their relationship with the Sustainable Development Goals. It also explores the recent human rights situation in Colombia and the importance of specific indicators to assess and guarantee the protection of human rights. It is concluded that the concepts of human security and multidimensional security share their emphasis on the comprehensive protection of human rights and highlights the contribution of the Sustainable Development Goals for this purpose, as well as of the specific indicators, both for countries and for international organizations that evaluate the guarantee of human rights.
Resumen en español Este artículo presenta un robusto análisis documental sobre los conceptos de seguridad humana y seguridad multidimensional, su enfoque en la protección de los derechos humanos, sus diferencias en el papel del Estado para este propósito y su relación con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible. Se explora, además, la situación reciente de derechos humanos en Colombia y la importancia de los indicadores específicos para evaluar y garantizar la protección de los derechos humanos. Se concluye que los conceptos de seguridad humana y seguridad multidimensional comparten su énfasis en la protección integral de los derechos humanos, y se resalta la contribución de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible para este propósito, así como de los indicadores específicos, tanto para los países como para los organismos internacionales que evalúan la garantía de los derechos humanos.
