| Spanish abstract | La investigación que se presenta tiene como objetivo diseñar un esquema para la evaluación de la sostenibilidad del desarrollo de los destinos turísticos cubanos. Los métodos empleados fueron el análisis y síntesis de la bibliografía sobre el tema objeto de estudio y el análisis comparativo de las metodologías empleadas en investigaciones precedentes sobre el estudio de la sostenibilidad en destinos turísticos internacionales de forma general y cubanos en particular. Los resultados de este análisis permitieron, a través del método Delphi, identificar las mejores prácticas en cuanto al tema estudiado. Se identificó que la evaluación de la sostenibilidad del desarrollo de destinos turísticos debe regirse por el principio del equilibrio entre las dimensiones económica, ambiental y social; incluir el análisis de la evolución en el tiempo de los parámetros que definan la satisfacción de las necesidades de las partes interesadas. Las mejores prácticas con respecto al tema estudiado, así como las particularidades del destino Cuba, sirvieron de base para proponer un esquema de evaluación de la sostenibilidad de destinos turísticos cubanos |
| English abstract | This research aimed to design a framework for the assessment of tourism destinations sustainable development for Cuba. The research methods employed were the analysis and synthesis of literature as well as induction and deduction. In addition, it was carried out a comparative analysis of the methodologies used in precedent international and Cuban studies on the subject. The results from the comparative analysis were the input for applying the Delphi method. This permitted to identify best practices in this topic, which were associated with the evaluation of the sustainability of tourism destinations’ development from a perspective that contains the principle of equilibrium that should exist among the socio-cultural, economic and environmental dimensions. In addition, it should be taken into account the evolution in time of the parameters that define the satisfaction of stakeholder’s needs nowadays and in the future. Best practices, and the particularities identified in the Cuban case, constituted the basis to propose a framework for the assessment of the sustainability of Cuban tourism destinations’ development |
