| English abstract | We examine the historiography of chemistry in Brazilian journals that feature this kind of research articles in the period after the initial institutionalization of the history of science in the country. Our background is the debate between externalism and internalism. A comparison is suggested between the data obtained about the history of chemistry and the national production of the industrial chemical sector to inquire whether there could be a correlation between the economic basis and historiographical trends during this period. |
| Portuguese abstract | A historiografia da química em periódicos brasileiros que a veiculam é examinada no período após a institucionalização da história da ciência no país, tendo como motivo condutor um debate entre as posições ditas de externalismo e internalismo. Sugere-se ainda um confronto dos dados obtidos de publicações sobre história da química com a produção nacional do setor químico para indagar se haveria uma correlação entre a base econômica e a historiografia, nesse período. |
