| English abstract | The research intends to verify the aesthetics effects on the implied reader, by analyzing the representation of death in Brazilian works for young people O Sofá Estampado (The Patterned Sofa) and O Abraço (The Embrace), both written by Lygia Bojunga Nunes. For this purpose, we will take as critic perspective the Aesthetic Response Theory of Hans Robert Jauss and the Effect Theory of Wolfgang Iser. This study verified that death not just configures a theme but also a character in both works, and it incites on the reader a mix of pleasure and strangeness |
| Portuguese abstract | O presente estudo tem como objetivo verificar os efeitos estéticos no leitor implícito, mediante análise da representação da morte nas obras infanto-juvenis brasileiras O Sofá Estampado e O Abraço de Lygia Bojunga Nunes. Para tanto, tomaremos como viés crítico a Estética da Recepção formulada por Hans Robert Jauss e a Teoria do Efeito propugnada por Wolfgang Iser. Em consonância com o estudo proposto, observamos, em ambas as obras, que a morte, além de configurarse como tema, surge como própria personagem da trama, responsável por gerar um misto de prazer e estranhamento no leitor |
