| English abstract | The aim of this paper is to investigate the function of resolution in the apprehension of principles in Aquinas. In order to do so, I examine the sense of resolution of being made by Aquinas in De veritate, q. 1, a. 1. To elucidate this part of Aquinas’s text, I intend to show how Aquinas brings together the resolution as proper method of human reason and the intelectual apprehension of being. | Portuguese abstract | O escopo do presente artigo consiste em investigar a função da resolução na apreensão de princípios em Tomás de Aquino. Para tanto, examino o sentido da resolução do ente efetuada por Tomás em De veritate, q. 1, a. 1. Com o intuito de elucidar esse extrato textual, tenho por objetivo explicitar como Tomás associa o emprego da resolução, entendida como método próprio da razão humana, com a apreensão intelectual do ente que, de acordo com Tomás, é o princípio geral sem o qual todo conhecimento humano encontrar-se-ia desprovido de fundamentação |
