| Spanish abstract | La presencia de dos escritores modernistas, Rubén Darío y Ricardo Jaimes Freyre en el campo cultural argentino entre fines del siglo XIX y principios del XX ha dejado huellas significativas evidentes en la formación de una generación de intelectuales comprometida con el proyecto nacional del Centenario.En el presente trabajo se estudia la representación discursiva de la imagen de Venus/Afrodita en la producción poética de ambos escritores. Consideramos que dicha representación se construye en base a elementos residuales de la tradición grecolatina en la poética modernista. En este sentido, se analizan las vinculaciones de dicha imagen con la construida por el poeta latino Horacio en sus Odas, relaciones que los poetas modernistas mencionados hacen explícita. Enmarcamos el análisis de dicha representación en el proceso de secularización literaria y la problemática construcción de una legitimidad intelectual |
| English abstract | The presence of two modernist writers -Rubén Darío and Ricardo Jaimes Freyre- in the argentine cultural field between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th has left significant marks, visible on the constitution of an intellectual generation compromised with the national project of the time of the first centennial of the argentine Independence.In the present work it studies the discursive representation of the Venus/Aphrodite image in the poetry production of these modernist writers. We considered that such representation it’s built based on the residual graeco-latin tradition elements, present in the modernist poetry. In that point, we analyze the relations between that modernist image of Venus and the picture constructed by the Latinist Horace in his Odes, those relations are explicit in the modernists works. This analyzes it´s framed in the literary secularization process and the problematic construction of a modernist intellectual legitimacy |
