| Spanish abstract | Usualmente, los cursos de matemáticas que apoyan la formación de profesionistas en diversas áreas de conocimiento se enfocan principalmente en la resolución de problemas propios de esa área; sin embargo, esta disciplina permite lograr un propósito más amplio y profundo que sólo convertirse en un apoyo instrumental para el planteamiento y solución de problemas: el desarrollo del pensamiento lógico. También afirmamos que aporta de manera clara y contundente al desarrollo de la metacognición, y por ende a la capacidad de aprender a aprender. | English abstract | Usually, mathematics courses that support the training of professionals in various areas of expertise are mainly focused on the resolution of problems from that area. However, this discipline allows achieving a broader and deeper purpose than just becoming an instrumental support for the analysis and solving of problems. This is: the development of logical thinking. We also affirm that it helps in a clear and blunt manner to the metacognition development, and thus to the ability of learning to learn.
