| English abstract | The main characteristics of the confrontation between Latin Americanism and Pan-Americanism are shown since the end of the 19th century, emphasizing in the period that followed World War II to the dawn of this century. The decline of the OEA and other institutions of the Inter-American System is highlighted since the end of the 1960s and its reactivation with the process of combating the progressive swell that the region lived, as well as in its most recent projection |
