| Spanish abstract | La región de América Latina y el Caribe es un integrante importante de las economías emergentes y de los países en vías de desarrollo, y también es una fuerza significativa para mantener la paz y el desarrollo mundial. China tiene una larga relación amistosa con esta zona y considera a la misma como un conjunto con un gran potencial, lleno de buenas perspectivas de desarrollo y cuya importancia aumenta constan-temente en el panorama internacional. A partir de los años 60, China empezó las ayudas exteriores a esta región, las cuales mostraron distintas características y consiguieron múltiples avances en diferentes etapas. En este artículo se exponen la evolución y el desarrollo de la ayuda exterior de China a la región latinoamericana y caribeña desde 1960 hasta la actualidad, para analizar el contenido de la colaboración, sus atributos, los desafíos y los progresos alcanzados, con la intención de investigar cómo las colabora-ciones con el exterior impulsan las relaciones y la colaboración entre China y América Latina y el Caribe, y las importancias prácticas que tienen para ambas partes |
| English abstract | The Latin American and Caribbean region is an important component of emerging economies and de-veloping countries, and also a significant force in maintaining world peace and development. China has a long-standing friendly relationship with this area and considers Latin America and the Caribbean as a group with great potential, packed with good development prospects and whose importance is constantly increasing on the international scene. Since the 1960s, China began to offer foreign assistance to Latin America and the Caribbean. These assistances showed different characteristics and achieved multiple ad-vances at different stages. This article exposes the evolution and development of China’s foreign assistance to Latin America and the Caribbean from the year 1960 to the present, analyzes the content of the assis-tance, its attributes, the challenges of its implementation and the progress achieved, with the intent to do research into how foreign assistance promotes the relationship and collaboration between China and Latin America and the Caribbean, and the practical importance for both sides |
