| Spanish abstract | Se realizó un estudio relacionado con la utilización de las plantas en la artesanía popular del municipio Santiago de Cuba, Cuba. Se encontraron 131 taxones infragenéricos que pertenecen a 124 géneros y 27 familias empleados en la confección de diferentes objetos. Los representantes nativos e introducidos de Magnoliophyta (principalmente Poaceae y Fabaceae) se utilizaron mayoritariamente con estos fines. Se detectaron seis estructuras de la planta utilizadas para elaborar los objetos, de las cuales las flores y las hojas fueron las más importantes |
| English abstract | A study was conducted about the use of plants in the production of traditional handicrafts in Santiago de Cuba Municipality, Cuba. Both native and nonnative species were utilized, these predominantly Magnoliophyta and belonging to 131 infrageneric taxa, 124 genera, and 27 families (mainly Poaceae and Fabaceae).
