| Spanish abstract | La pandemia del Covid-19 ha cambiado nuestra forma de vivir. Uno de sus efectos lo podemos ver en los cambios significativos en el comportamiento social. En el caso del comportamiento prosocial resulta interesante ver cómo mientras algunos ciudadanos incrementan su solidaridad frente a aquellos en desventaja (donaciones, ayuda a ancianos, etc.), otros actúan de manera egoísta ignorando las consecuencias de sus acciones para el grupo (ej. acaparando bienes de primera necesidad). Con el objetivo de encontrar la relación entre donar y la identidad cultural, se aplicó el Instrumento de Colectivismo-Individualismo (INDICOL) encontrando que las personas que donaron tenían una identidad colectivista frente a las que no lo hicieron. Esto nos permite comprender que la identidad cultural es un factor relevante para comprender el comportamiento prosocial |
| English abstract | The Covid-19 pandemic has changed our way of living. One of its effects can be seen in the significant changes that it causes in our social behavior. In the case of prosocial behavior, it is interesting to see how while some citizens increase their solidarity with those at a disadvantage (donations, help for the elderly, etc.), others act selfishly, ignoring the consequences of their actions for the group (eg. hoarding essential goods). To find the relationship between donating and cultural identity, we applied the Collectivism-Individualism Instrument (INDICOL). We find that people who donated had a collectivist identity compared to those who did not. This allows us to understand that cultural identity is a relevant factor in understanding prosocial behavior |
