| English abstract | This article presents L’isle des hermaphrodites , published anonymously in 1605, in Paris, and discusses the genres to which this novel belongs: utopia, (imaginary) travel account and satire. The predominance of satire over the other genres is the starting point to examining the references to Petrone in this book, especially to the Trimalchio’s feast, from Satyricon , realizing the reuse of the theme of dissimulation linked to the figure of hermaphrodite as allegory |
| Portuguese abstract | O presente artigo apresenta L’isle des hermaphrodites , libelo publicado anonimamente em Paris, em 1605, e discute os gêneros aos quais essa obra pertence: utopia, relato de viagem (imaginária) e sátira. A predominância da sátira sobre os outros gêneros é o ponto de partida para o exame das referências a Petrônio em L’isle des hermaphrodites , especialmente ao episódio do banquete de Trimalquião, do Satíricon , percebendo a reutilização do tema da dissimulação associado à figura do hermafrodita como alegoria |
