| Spanish abstract | Se ensaya una lectura crítica de la postura teorética del investigador estadounidense Thomas Popkewitz, y se establecen sus alcances y límites a partir de la fenomenología de la experiencia argumental de Carlos Pereda. Primero, se describe lo que Popkewitz llama “epistemología social” y se destacan sus fortalezas. En segundo lugar, se caracteriza la reconstrucción de un punto de vista, que se denominará “de la negatividad”, en su argumentación. En tercer lugar, se analizan ciertas aristas de tal punto de vista, a partir de dos vértigos argumentales en el trabajo de Popkewitz: 1) de lo negativo; y 2) descriptivo. Se concluye con algunas reflexiones acerca de la lectura presentada, las cuales advierten en contra de hacer aplicaciones domesticadas y acríticas de los planteamientos del profesor estadounidense |
| English abstract | The present paper is a critical reading of the theoretical stance of the American researcher Thomas Popkewitz, establishing both its scope and its limits from the perspective of Carlos Pereda’s phenomenology of the argumentative experience. First, we define what Popkewitz calls “social epistemology” while highlighting its strengths. Secondly, we describe the reconstruction of a point of view which we have called “of negativity”. Thirdly, certain edges of this point of view are analyzed, based on two argumentative vertigos in Popkewitz's work: 1) the negative; and 2) the descriptive. The essay concludes with some reflections about the reading, which warn against making domesticated and uncritical applications of the approaches of the American professor |
