| English abstract | In this essay, we´ll discuss some questions related to the Baroque, as well as some critics´s ideas about the concept, without the intention to have any closed position about the problem because we believe this is a critical reduction. Our intent is to pursue some hypotheses about the representation in Baroque art, think of aesthetic marks converge to a mode of apprehension of reality. There were theorists who thought the Baroque as a historical category and others that understood transhistorical category. In this cluster, the Cuban writer Severo Sarduy will be the first to use the concept of Newbaroque. In the two theoretical positions we have other questions that permeate the analysis made by different theorists, forming a network interpretation that proliferates infinitely. There is, finally, the reading of João Adolfo Hansen who affirms that there is no sense in talking about "Baroque" |
| Portuguese abstract | Neste ensaio, discutiremos algumas questões relacionadas ao barroco, assim como as análises de alguns críticos sobre o conceito, sem a intenção de fecharmos nenhuma posição sobre o problema, porque acreditamos ser isto uma atitude crítica redutora. Nosso intuito é perseguir algumas hipóteses sobre a representação na arte barroca, pensar em marcas estéticas confluindo para um modo de apreensão do real. Houve teóricos que pensaram o barroco enquanto categoria histórica e outros que o entenderam como categoria transhistórica. Neste pólo, o escritor cubano Severo Sarduy será o primeiro a utilizar o conceito de neobarroco. Nas duas posições teóricas temos ainda questões outras que permeiam a análise feita pelos diversos teóricos, formando uma rede interpretativa que se prolifera infinitamente. Há, por fim, a leitura de João Adolfo Hansen que afirma que não há sentido em falar em “barroco” |
