| Spanish abstract | Este artículo propone una lectura de las letras del Barroco colonial en relación con la polémica hispano-criolla desatada en el S. XVII a partir de la subestimación española del territorio y el hombre americano y la consiguiente postergación de los derechos de los criollos. Examinadas desde sus condiciones de producción, las letras del Barroco colonial revelan la enmascarada incorporación del alegato criollo que demanda el reconocimiento de la dignidad de la tierra y del hombre americano. Las obras manifiestan la creatividad de los escritores, capaces de hacer uso del modelo estético metropolitano también en función de sus propios intereses y nos lleva a cuestionar el excluyente carácter imitativo con que las considera la crítica tradicional |
| English abstract | This article postulates the reading of the colonial Barroque literature connected with the Spanish-Creole polemic situation of the 17th century that came from the Spanish underestimation of the territory and the rights of the american man. The colonial Barroque literature examined from its conditions of production, reveals the hidden incorporation of the Creole statement, which demands the recognition of both the dignity of the land and the american man. These works show the writers' creativity, who make use of the metropolitan aesthetic model to fulfil their own interests, and make us question the imitative excluding character stated by the traditional critic |
