Spanish abstract El presente trabajo aborda algunas reflexiones sobre las principales limitaciones que poseen los estudiantes de Lenguas Extranjeras en el desarrollo de la independencia cognoscitiva. También se trata algunas definiciones por autores nacionales y extranjeros que ha desarrollado investigaciones en esta área del conocimiento. En el artículo se muestran los resultados de un estudio empírico que se realizó sobre el tema en la carrera lenguas extranjeras del Instituto Superior Pedagógico "Pepito Tey". ABSTRACTThis article consists of some reflections about the most remarkable limitations of the development of cognitive independence of students of foreign language. It also deals with some definitions that national and foreign authors stated about the field.
