| Spanish abstract | El ameloblastoma es un tumor odontogénico de los maxilares, localmente agresivo y con una alta predisposición a la recurrencia después del tratamiento. En este reporte imagenológico se presenta el caso de un paciente masculino de 49 años de edad, con dificultad al momento de respirar durante la noche. Se menciona la importancia de la tomografía espiral multicorte (TEM) para la evaluación de las lesiones tumorales de gran tamaño; dando énfasis en sus diferentes propiedades y herramientas como son la evaluación de la zona de interés desde distintas perspectivas, la posibilidad de utilizar las Unidades Hounsfield (HU) y la evaluación tanto tejidos blandos y duros, etc. El diagnóstico clínico-patológico fue de ameloblastoma sólido/multiquístico de tipo plexiforme, folicular y acantomatoso |
| English abstract | Ameloblastoma is an odontogenic tumor of the jaws, locally aggressive and with a high predisposition to recurrence after treatment. In this report, the case of a 49-year-old malepatient with difficulty breathing at night is presented. The importance of multicortex spiral tomography (TEM) for the evaluation of large tumor lesions is mentioned; Emphasizing their different properties and tools such as the evaluation of the area of interest from different perspectives, the possibility of using Hounsfield Units (HU) and evaluation of soft and hard tissues, etc. The clinical-pathological diagnosis was of solid / multicystic ameloblastoma of the plexiform, follicular and acanthomatous type |
