| Spanish abstract | El sistema internacional ha sido el escenario de cambios significativos desde el fin de la guerra fría. Uno de estos concierne a la mayor diversificación de los elementos que otorgan un poder estructural a países o grupos de países en el orden global. Ahora, la diversificación de las fuentes de poder no implica que el poder en sí mismo sea menos concentrado y más compartido que antes. A partir de fundamentos del realismo neoclásico y del modelo analítico del poder estructural de Susan Strange, el artículo analiza una serie de indicadores que demuestran que el "bloque liberal" formado por los países del G7 y de la Unión Europea sigue con la mayor parte del poder en el sistema internacional contemporáneo. | English abstract | Various changes have affected the international system since the end of the Cold War. One of them has been the diversification of the elements providing states or groups of states with structural power over the global order. Now, a greater diversification of sources ofpower does not necessarily imply that power in itselfis less concentrated and more distributed today than it was before. This article proposes an empirical analysis of the evolution of structural power in the international system since the end of the bipolar order through a neoclassical realist lens, combined with Susan Strange's structural power analytical model. Its main arguments are that the "liberal bloc" formed by the G7 and the European Union countries still holds the most part of power in the contemporary international system, and that the rise of China provokes its relative decline but not the strengthening of the Global South |
