| Spanish abstract | Este artículo describe el significado de aquí, acá, ahí, allí y allá en el español mexicano desde la semántica cognoscitiva. El paradigma se distribuye binariamente con base en las variables: 1) modo de construcción de la escena, en que la terminación -á contrasta con -í en grados de subjetividad; 2) integración de ego en el espacio de referencia, en que acá representa la integración total y allá, la separación impuesta por algún obstáculo conceptual; 3) el dominio de ego, en que aquí designa las localizaciones que están en este dominio; y 4) la focalidad, en que allí designa localizaciones que se encuentran en una región no-focal y ahí, las que se encuentran en una región focal. Como consecuencia de su valor más objetivo y focal, ahí asume el papel de miembro no-marcado de la categoría |
| English abstract | This paper analyses the meaning of aquí, acá, ahí, allí and allá in Mexican Spanish from a cognitive semantics viewpoint. The paradigm is dis- tributed along binary lines based on: 1) construal and base parameters, where the series with -á ending are contrasted with the -í ending in degrees of sub- jectivity; 2) integration of ego in the reference space, in which acá represents the total integration and allá, the separation imposed by some conceptual obstacle; 3) the domain of ego, in which aquí designates the locations inside this domain; and 4) focality, in which allí designates the locations in the low- focal region, and ahí, the locations in a high-focal region. Because its value is more objective and focal, ahí assumes the role of the unmarked member of the category |
