| English abstract | This study analyzes the social representations of the child, according to licensed students of the Pedagogy Course of the Federal University of Mato Grosso. It is supported by the contributions of the Theory of the Social Representations (MOSCOVICI, 2003) and of the Theory of Infancy Sociology (SARMENTO, 2007). The methodological procedures adopts the free association of words (n=206) which analysis was accomplished by the joint of the results of three phases: 1. analysis of content; 2. cohesive analysis supported by the software; 3. analysis of the structural elements (EVOC). The results reveal that, the social representation of child is anchored in meanings associated with the innocent and small child whose playful expressivity is articulated by the learning and cognitive development. The represented child seems to incite the presence of the sensible adult identified with the joy and the love offered to the child as well as the adult whose action is organized according to care and protection practices |
| Portuguese abstract | Este estudo analisa as representações sociais sobre criança, segundo licenciandos de Pedagogia da Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso. Apóia-se nas contribuições da Teoria das Representações Sociais (MOSCOVICI, 2003) e da Sociologia da Infância (SARMENTO, 2007). Com ênfase na abordagem estrutural, adota como procedimento metodológico a associação livre de palavras (n=206) cuja análise se deu pela articulação dos resultados decorrentes de três fases: 1. análise de conteúdo; 2. análise coesitiva assistida por programa computacional; 3. análise do quadro de elementos estruturais (EVOC). Os resultados indicam que, as representações sociais de criança ancoram-se em significados associados à criança pequena, inocência cuja expressividade lúdica articula-se a aprendizagem e ao desenvolvimento cognitivo. A criança assim representada parece suscitar a presença do adulto sensível e identificado com a alegria e o amor a ela atribuídos, bem como do adulto cuja ação se organiza segundo as práticas de cuidado e proteção |
