| Spanish abstract | Dentro de las teorías del desarrollo endógeno, toma relevancia el papel que desempeñan las infraestructuras social y económica. Este papel no está exento de controversia y su impacto en el desarrollo de las regiones ha sido analizado desde varias perspectivas y experiencias. No obstante, en los últimos años se ha revalorado la influencia positiva de las infraestructuras, tanto, que su impacto en términos de externalidades puede ser tan importante como la inversión en capital humano o el desarrollo de tecnología. En este artículo se expone la teoría del desarrollo endógeno y se hace énfasis en el papel de la infraestructura, especialmente como pieza clave del potencial de desarrollo regional |
| English abstract | Within the theories of the endogenous development the relevance of the social and economic infraestructures are getting relevance. This role of infrastructure is not exempt of controversy and its impact in the development of the regions has been analyzed from several theoretical perspectives and experiences. However, in the last years the positive influence of infrastructures has been revalued, as much that its impact, in terms of externalities, can be as important as human capital investment or technological development. In this article the theory of the endogenous development is explained and it is emphasized the importance of the infrastructure, especially in its key function as component of the potential development of a region |
