| Spanish abstract | Los tumores mediastinales representan un reto diagnóstico y terapéutico para el equipo médico. Dependiendo de la localización de los mismos y el grupo etario del paciente, podemos considerar ciertas posibilidades diagnósticas; sin embargo, esto en ocasiones no es posible y el abordaje quirúrgico se vuelve necesario, tanto con fines diagnósticos como terapéuticos. Presentamos el caso de una paciente con un tumor mediastinal vascularizado que fue resecado por medio de un abordaje toracoscópico. El reporte histopatológico definitivo fue de un glomangioma, un raro tumor derivado de células mioepiteliales |
| English abstract | Mediastinal tumors represent a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge for medical team. Depending on the tumor location and patient age group we can have an idea about diagnostic possibilities; sometimes this is not feasible and a surgical approach becomes necessary both as diagnostic and therapeutic. We present the case of a patient with a highly vascular mediastinal tumor that was resected by a thoracoscopic approach, final histopathological report was a glomangioma, a rare tumor derived from myoepithelial cells |
