| English abstract | This paper analyzes a group of representations imagistic transmitted through spread French postcards in the period of the Great War (1914-1918). Looking for to notice as the French com-batants was represented in this media type and opposing with the soldiers’ reports that strug-gled in the front, the research search through the method iconography/iconological devel-oped by Panofsky (2011) and used in several works of Stancik (2009, 2017) to still notice rup-tures and permanences of an social imaginary characteristic of the century XIX presents in the beginning of the century XX |
| Portuguese abstract | O trabalho analisa um conjunto de representa-ções imagéticas veiculadas através de cartões--postais1 franceses difundidos no período da Grande Guerra (1914-1918). Buscando perceber como os combatentes franceses eram represen-tados neste tipo de mídia e contrapondo com os relatos de soldados que lutaram no front, a pes-quisa busca através do método iconográfico/iconológico desenvolvido por Panofsky (2011) e utilizado em diversos trabalhos de Stancik (2009, 2017) perceber rupturas e permanências de um imaginário social característico do sécu-lo XIX ainda presente no início do século XX |
