| Spanish abstract | El Premio Nobel de Física de 2014 fue otorgado a tres investigadores de origen japonés: Isamu Akasaki, Hiroshi Amano y Shuji Nakamura, por sus contribuciones al desarrollo de los diodos emisores de luz azul y en consecuencia a los emisores de luz blanca. Se presenta un resumen del desarrollo histórico de la invención de los diodos azules, los problemas que se tuvieron que resolver y se analiza qué tan importante es este desarrollo como para merecer tan reconocido galardón |
| English abstract | The Nobel Prize in Physics 2014 was awarded to three researchers of Japanese origin: Isamu Akasaki, Hiroshi Amano and Shuji Nakamura, for his contributions to the development of blue light emitting diodes and consequently to white light emitters. A summary of the historical development of the invention of the blue diodes and the problems that had to be resolved, are presented. It is also analyzed how important is this development as to deserve such a recognized award |
