| English abstract | This paper aims to resume the concept of Luria about perceptual phenomena. For this author, some perceptual processes would have a physiological basis, while others would change with cultural education. Perception would be influenced by language learning and the development of conceptual thinking. The perception of reality would be accompanied by meaning and sense. In this way, it is understood as the expression of the dynamic relations between the psychological systems. To discuss such questions, we used as a starting point the controversy between the results of the experiments carried out by Luria and Koffka on the expeditions to Central Asia. The first one had the goal to verify the effects of the cultural changes in the psychological processes, among them, the perception, and the second aimed to investigate its universal forms. We present a hypothesis for the divergence in the forms of interpretation. Finally, we mention other methods of investigation that confirm this explanation of the perceptive phenomenon |
| Portuguese abstract | O presente artigo tem como objetivo retomar a concepção de Luria sobre fenômenos perceptivos. Para este autor, alguns processos perceptivos teriam uma base fisiológica, já outros se alterariam com o desenvolvimento cultural. A aprendizagem da linguagem e o desenvolvimento do pensamento conceitual modificariam substancialmente essa função. A percepção da realidade seria acompanhada pelo significado e pelo sentido. Desse modo, ela é entendida como sendo a expressão das relações dinâmicas entre os sistemas psicológicos. Para discutirmos tais questões, utilizamos como ponto de partida a controvérsia entre os resultados dos experimentos realizados por Luria e Koffka nas expedições à Ásia Central. O primeiro tinha como objetivo constatar os efeitos das mudanças culturais nos processos psicológicos, dentre eles a percepção, e o segundo teve como finalidade investigar suas formas universais. Apresentamos uma hipótese para a divergência nas formas de interpretação. Por fim, mencionamos outros métodos de investigação que corroboram essa explicação do fenômeno perceptivo |
