| Spanish abstract | La preeclampsia es una entidad de elevada prevalencia. Sus manifestaciones son heterogéneas, dentro de las que destaca la disfunción de la microcirculación, que se manifiesta como anemia hemolítica microangiopática, la que se caracteriza por la presencia en el frotis de sangre periférica de formas anormales eritrocitarias como esquistocitos, dacriocitos y eritrocitos fragmentados. | English abstract | Preeclampsia is a highly prevalent entity. Its manifestations are heterogeneous, highlighting the microcirculation dysfunction, which manifests as microangiopathic hemolytic anemia which is characterized by the presence in the peripheral blood smear by abnormal red blood cells such as schistocytes, dacriocytes and fragmented erythrocytes.
