| English abstract | This paper is the result of a qualitative research in Geography, which aimed to analyze identity characteristics related to the establishment of networks of sociability among young people who attend Funk dances in the city of Presidente Prudente/SP. For this, a bibliographical research was done - mainly referring to the concepts of identity and sociability - followed by field surveys, which in the case meant attending Funk dance parties. In these field surveys, we are guided by the methodology of participant observation, in order to be in direct contact with the objects and constituent subjects of the research undertaken. In addition, interviews were conducted in non-directive mode, which is based on letting the interviewee feel free to discuss about subjects/situations which are introduced in the conversation by the researcher in the form of topics. The observations made throughout the field research, combined with the content of the interviews and supported by the theoretical reference, made it possible to verify that the Funk scene in Presidente Prudente is limited, but effervescent. In this context, we note that the "Funk lifestyle" is closely associated with objects bearing symbolism, such as clothing of certain brands. In this way, a questionnaire was applied in order to obtain data on the preference of young people for some brands, as well as the frequency they use the internet |
| Portuguese abstract | O presente artigo é fruto de uma pesquisa qualitativa em Geografia que objetivou analisar características identitárias e relativas ao estabelecimento de redes de sociabilidade entre jovens que frequentam bailes Funk em Presidente Prudente/SP. Para tanto, foi feita pesquisa bibliográfica, principalmente, referente aos conceitos de identidade e sociabilidade, seguida de pesquisas de campo, que, no caso, significaram frequentar bailes Funk. Nessas pesquisas de campo, pautamo-nos na metodologia da observação participante, com intuito de estar em contato direto com os objetos e sujeitos constituintes da pesquisa empreendida. Além disso, foram realizadas entrevistas na modalidade não-diretiva, que é pautada em deixar o entrevistado à vontade para discorrer sobre temas que são introduzidos na conversa pelo pesquisador em forma de tópicos. As observações realizadas ao longo das pesquisas de campo, aliadas ao teor das entrevistas e apoiadas no referencial teórico, possibilitaram aferir que a cena Funk de Presidente Prudente é limitada, porém efervescente. Nesse âmbito, notamos que o “estilo de vida Funk” é bastante associado a objetos providos de simbolismo, como roupas de determinadas marcas. Dessa forma, foi aplicado um questionário com a finalidade de obter dados quanto à preferência dos jovens por determinadas marcas, bem como a assiduidade com que navegam na internet |
