| Spanish abstract | Alfonso Reyes es uno de los principales detentadores de la idea (casi una campaña) por crearse un Juan Ruiz de Alarcón no sólo mexicano sino prototipo de la mexicanidad. A sus cuarenta años, Reyes pronunció un discurso por el "Tercer centenario [mortuorio] de Alarcón" (1639-1939), el cual propone y compone un Alarcón mexicano (que no novohispano) avant la lettre et avant le Cri. Cuarenta y seis años después del artículo clásico de Antonio Alatorre "Para la historia de un problema: la mexicanidad de Ruiz de Alarcón" (1964), Alberto Paredes examina las ideas y los recursos estilístico-argumentativos de Reyes, deteniéndose en las destrezas de la pluma reyina; invita Paredes: "Tengamos, así sea momentáneamente, el gesto de deponer la ideología para hablar de estilística" |
| English abstract | Alfonso Reyes is one of the principal proponents of the idea (almost a campaign) to make one Juan Ruiz de Alarcón into not just being a Mexican, but the very prototype of Mexicanicity. In his fortieth year, Reyes pronounced a discourse for the "Third centenary [of the death] of Alarcón" (1639-1939). The same which proposed and composed an Alarcón as a Mexican (not a native of New Spain) avant la lettre et avant le Cri. Forty-six years after the classic article by Antonio Alatorre, "Towards the history of a problem: the Mexicanicity of Ruiz de Alarcón" (1964), Alberto Paredes examines the ideas and the stylistic-argumentative resources of Reyes, lingering on the powers of Reyes' pen; Paredes invites: "Let's have, thus momentarily, the gesture of setting aside ideology to speak of stylistics." |
