| Spanish abstract | Dulcinea no es simplemente la princesa ni Aldonza Lorenzo como se ha asumido por décadas. Las diferencias entre el ideal de don Quijote y su entorno detonan la aparición de diferentes mujeres a manera de Dulcineas apócrifas. Este ensayo analiza la ambigüedad con Aldonza, la aparición de Dulcinea Encantada al principio de la segunda parte, el sueño en la Cueva de Montesinos y la función de Dulcinea como justificación de las acciones del caballero andante. Dulcinea en el imaginario de Sancho, Dulcinea Encantada, y la empresa por desencantarla, presentan un personaje opuesto al ideal: Dulcinea es rústica, grotesca, abyecta y monstruosa |
| English abstract | Dulcinea is not simply the princess or Aldonza Lorenzo as critics have assumed for decades. The ambiguity between don Quixote's ideal and the novel triggers the appearance of women as apocryphal Dulcineas. This paper analyzes the ambiguity with Aldonza, the appearance of the Enchanted Dulcinea in the begining of the Second part, the dream in Montesinos' Cave, and the function of Dulcinea as justification of the knight errant's actions. Yet, Dulcinea as imagined by Sancho, the Enchanted Dulcinea, as well as the wish for her disenchantment, introduce a character opposed don Quixote's ideal: she is rustic, grotesque, abject and monstrous |
