English abstract | The results of the investigation that I expose elucidate some of the barriers, related with the characteristics of a health care organizational culture, for antiretroviral therapy access and adherence of indigenous people living with HIV-AIDS in the Highlands of Chiapas. From a theoretical approach that emphasizes the structural and institutional violence operating through discrimination by ethnicity, socio/economic situation and HIV-AIDS disease, I describe and analyze a case study discussing some of the difficulties that indigenous residing in a community have for the antiretroviral therapy access and adherence in the "Servicio de Atención Integral a personas que viven con VIH" of San Cristobal de Las Casas |
