| Spanish abstract | Hay una triple ejemplaridad en la figura de Eduardo Nicol: en todo momento, a pesar de las adversidades, supo ser fiel a la vocación filosófica, y por eso se puso libremente al servicio de la filosofía y se negó persistentemente a poner la filosofía a su servicio; también supo ser fiel a México, que le dio casa y sustento, y le permitió ser mexicano, y se adhirió siempre al rigor científico de la filosofía sistemática. La nación reconoció el valor de su obra y su persona, y él nunca dejó pasar una oportunidad en la que pudiera elocuentemente expresar su agradecimiento |
| English abstract | There is a exemplar life in the figure of Eduardo Nicol: at any moment, in spite of the adversities, he knew to be faithful to the philosophical vocation, and for that reason he was put for himself to the service of the philosophy and one persistently refused to put the philosophy to its service; also he knew to be faithful to Mexico, that gave to house and sustenance him, and allowed him to be Mexican, and he always adhered to the scientific rigor of the systematic philosophy. The nation recognized the value of its work and its person, and it never let pass an opportunity in which he could eloquently express his gratefulness |
