| English abstract | The relationship between Arendt and Montesquieu are essential to properly understand the notion of power in german thinker. C onsidered by Arendt the last author of the tradition to think about forms of government , Montesquieu was also able to review the tradition of Western political thought b y introducing the concept of "principle of government" in his analysis of the sp irit of the laws which conduct the forms of government. Arendt saw the French author l inked to the Roman political tradition, which would allow her to think on law, p ower, public sphere, freedom and non-sovereignty from Monstesquieu ́s remarks |
| Portuguese abstract | As relações entre Arendt e Montesquieu são fundamen tais para compreender adequadamente a noção de poder na pensadora alemã. Considerado por Arendt o último autor da tradição a refletir sobre formas de govern o, Montesquieu foi também capaz de realizar uma revisão na tradição do pensamento polí tico ocidental ao introduzir o conceito de “princípio de governo” em sua análise d o espírito das leis que regem as formas de governo. Arendt viu o autor francês vincu lado à tradição política romana, o que a possibilitaria de pensar a partir dele suas considerações sobre lei, poder, esfera pública, liberdade e não-soberania |
