| English abstract | In this paper I will do a briefly exposition about Hempel’s and Nagel’s theory of reduction and also about two historical examples pr oposed by Feyerabend in order to suggest the insufficiency of those models in claim scientif ic progress. I will argue that Feyerabend didn’t refute totally the logical of reduction with the given examples, contributing, however, to weaken it. I will conclude that a possible contribu tion from feyerabendian’s criticism is seen on the field of epistemical virtue of avoid dogmatism |
| Portuguese abstract | Neste artigo farei uma breve exposição dos modelos de redução teórica de Hempel e Nagel e de dois exemplos históricos propostos por F eyerabend para sugerir a insuficiência de tais modelos para advogar um progresso científico. Argumentarei que Feyerabend não consegue refutar totalmente a lógica da redução pelos exempl os dados, contribuindo, no entanto para enfraquecê-la. Concluirei que uma possível contribu ição da crítica feyerabendiana se traduz no campo da virtude epistêmica de evitar o dogmatismo |
