| English abstract | this analysis aims to consider whether it is possi ble to associate Merleau-Ponty with a tradition that describes the regard from the point of view of a haptic function – a tradition that emphasizes how the vision is able to perform a spec ific function of the touch. For this, we return several examples in which Merleau-Ponty seems to be following this possibility, as in the description of diseases, such as the heautoscopy, o r as in obscure cases, such as the telepathy, as in the description of painters, as Marchand, as in the description of clinical cases, as of the woman that feels been seeing by the world, etc. In truth, it seems that Merleau-Ponty goes a step further of that tradition: if our neck burns with t he regard of others, this suggests that this function is also embedded in a regard that is not o urs – something that is only possible if we lead at the utmost what the philosophy of the flesh of Merleau-Ponty teaches us |
| Portuguese abstract | Esta análise visa pensar se é possível associarmos Merleau-Ponty com uma tradição que descreve a visão a partir de uma função háptica – uma tradição que enfatiza como a visão é capaz de realizar uma função própria ao tocar. Para isto, retomaremos vários exemplos em que Merleau-Ponty parece flertar com essa possibilidade , seja na descrição de patologias, como na heautoscopia, seja em casos obscuros, como na telep atia, seja na descrição dos pintores, como Marchand, seja na descrição de casos clínicos, como de uma mulher que se sente olhada pelo mundo, etc. No fundo, parece que Merleau-Ponty dá u m passo adiante daquela tradição: se nossa nuca queima com o olhar de outrem, isso nos s ugere que essa função está incrustada também num olhar que não é o nosso – algo que só é possível se levarmos ao extremo o que a filosofia da carne de Merleau-Ponty nos ensina |
