English abstract | With the goal of evaluating the change in the factors that determine the bean supply in Mexico, differentiating it on irrigation and rain-fed, a model of simultaneous equations was formulated, composed of two of supply, three of prices transmission and one identity; using annual data from 1980 to 2016 and the two-stage least squares method (MC2E). The results indicate that the total bean supply, responds inelastically to changes in its price, produced under irrigation (0.2814) and rain-fed (0.2575); the price of the competitive good that most impacts it is that of the chickpea produced in rain-fed (-0.4594). By type of technology, the price-specific elasticities of the bean supply in irrigation and rain-fed, were 0.9087 and 0.3730; the changes in the competitive goods that have the greatest impact on the two types of offers are those registered in the price of rice (-0.4498) and chickpea (-0.6654) |
