| Spanish abstract | Se estudiaron variables relacionadas con los modelamientos recibidos en la infancia por un grupo de 80 pandilleros de la ciudad de Aguascalientes, México, miembros de 30 pandillas. El proceso se fundamentó en las teorías del aprendizaje social de Bandura (1982) y de Akers (2006). Los datos de trabajo se recolectaron mediante una encuesta de campo. La intención del análisis fue identificar los modelamientos de conducta recibidos en la niñez por jóvenes que actualmente pertenecen a una pandilla. Los modelamientos explorados fueron: conductas de agresión –incluyendo agresión recibida, agresión testificada de los parentales y agresión hacia animales–, comisión de delitos y hacinamiento. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que un importante número de los participantes observaron en su infancia conductas de agresión, así como la pertenencia activa de familiares cercanos a pandillas; también fue significativo el número de los que convivieron con emisores de conductas delictivas |
| English abstract | A study was made of variables related to behavioral modeling received during childhood by a group of 80 gang members in the city of Aguascalientes, Mexico, all them active members of 30 gangs. The procedure followed was based on the Social Learning theories of Bandura (1982) and Akers (2006). Research data used in this work were collected through a field survey. The aim of the work was to identify the behavioral models received in early stages of development (early and middle childhood) by young people who are currently involved in a gang. The models explored were: types of aggressive behavior —including aggressions received, testimony of aggression between parents and aggression toward animals—, criminal behavior and overcrowding. The results obtained show that a significant number of gang members from the sample studied were exposed in their childhood to aggressive behavior in various modalities as well as the active membership in gangs of close relatives; also significant was the number of those who lived with people engaging in criminal activities |
