| Spanish abstract | A partir de 2009 Manuel Castells conceptualiza el poder como un proceso que integra dos elementos diferenciados: la violencia y el discurso. En la presente investigación me ocupo de analizar dicha fórmula haciendo hincapié en los problemas que acarrea la diferenciación entre ambos elementos, así como el reduccionismo que conlleva la restricción de los mecanismos de formación de poder a las variables mencionadas. El estudio permite poner en cuestión la tesis de la complementariedad de las fuentes de poder, tal como la entiende Castells. Por un lado, se logra descubrir las operaciones teóricas que conforman dicha tesis, y por el otro se reconoce la manipulación que efectúa el sociológico español de sus fuentes teóricas principales, en primer lugar de Michel Foucault y en menor medida de Max Weber |
| English abstract | From 2009 Manuel Castells conceptualises power as a process that integrates two distinct elements: violence and discourse. In this research we deal with the analysis of this formula, focusing on the problems associated with the differentiation between the two elements, as well as the reductionism involved in the restriction of power formation mechanisms to these variables. The study allows to question the thesis of complementary power sources, as Castells understands it, from discovering the theoretical operations that constitute his differentiation proposal, and from recognizing the manipulation the Spanish sociologist makes of his main theoretical sources, firstly of Michel Foucault and then, to a lesser extent, of Max Weber |
