| English abstract | This article presents a theoretical and conceptual approach about the territory, addressing the material and symbolic-cultural approaches. The objetive of this paper is to reflect theoretically on the different conceptual aspects and concepts of territory present today in geography. The methodology consists of a literature review, based on the following authors: Claude Raffestin (1993), Rogério Haesbaert (1995, 1997, 2006a, 2006b, 2007) and Marcos Saquet (2007). The theoretical framework was used to support dissertation entitled: "Among marshes, grotas and chapadas: the sertanejo peasantry and the extraction of the pequi in the savannas of Minas Gerais." Thus, the theoretical basis was developed considering the sertanejo territory of Minas Gerais, where the relationship between nature and society combines materialism and idealism, it is possible to establish a dialogue between the different dimensions of the territory: natural, economic, political and cultural |
| Portuguese abstract | Este artigo faz uma abordagem teórica e conceitual acerca do território, abordando os enfoques material e simbólico-cultural. O objetivo desse trabalho é refletir teoricamente sobre as diferentes vertentes conceituais e concepções de território presentes hoje na Geografia. A metodologia é constituída por uma revisão bibliográfica, baseando-se principalmente nos seguintes autores: Claude Raffestin (1993), Rogério Haesbaert (1995, 1997, 2006a, 2006b, 2007) e Marcos Saquet (2007). O arcabouço teórico foi utilizado para dar suporte à dissertação de mestrado intitulada: “Entre brejos, grotas e chapadas: o campesinato sertanejo e o extrativismo do pequi nos cerrados de Minas Gerais”. Dessa forma, a base teórica foi desenvolvida pensando no território sertanejo de Minas Gerais, onde a relação natureza-sociedade combina materialismo e idealismo, sendo possível estabelecer um diálogo entre as diferentes dimensões do território: natural, econômica, política e cultural |
