Resumen en inglés | Several models are analyzed that have been suggested to decribe the mechanical behavior of bone, focused particularly on human bone. The aims are to predict the mechanical properties of bone and to establish how this properties are affected by aging and disease, that have influence on density and composition. An appropiated modeled of the mechanical behavior of bone would allow improvements on the prosthesis design, and the prediction of bone behavior. Additinally advances obtained as a result of compression tests are presented, determining elastic properties of cancellous bones |
