English abstract Conjugate mixed convection and conduction heat transfer in a ventilated square cavity is studiedd numerically using the 2-D steady state Navier Stokes equations. All the walls were considered adiabatic except for the right vertical wall which is an opaque wall, wich has a small air opening at the bottom side. Constant heat flux is assumed to be supplied on this wall and it exchanges heat by convection and radiation to the exterior and by convection to the interior of the ventilated square cavity. To allow the exit of the air flow, there is opening at the top of the left vertical wall. Two cases were considered respect to the size of the relative height of the openings: Hi= Hy/4 and Hi= Hy/8. the conservation equations of mass, momentum and energy were solved using the finite volume method for Rayleigh numbers in the range of 10 at fourth potence minor or equal Ra minor or equal 10 at 7 potence and Reynolds number in the range of 50 minus or equal Re minus or equal 600. Implemented computational code was verified by reducing it to one case reported in the literature, the comparison is considered very good agreement. The velocity and temperature field for the two cases analyzed were reported. In order to provide useful information for the mixed convection heat transfer in ventilated square cavities, the Nusselt number correlations were determined for all the two cases
