| English abstract | We are committed to look for bigger opportunities for the current and future generations by means of invigorating human resources, the protection and renovation of our natural capital, the amplification of the financial resources and the invigoration of those institutions that make these improvements possible. This work approaches the role that the information carries out in relation to a sustainable development and how the information professional can influence on its community towards the achievement of a culture that promotes sustainability. We propose a plan of actions for the creation of a collaborative net of work involving the community and regional libraries which allows the sharing of information and the generalization of results, achieving among all, the rising of culture and environmental education of the target populations |
| Portuguese abstract | Estamos comprometidos a buscar mayores oportunidades para las generaciones actuales y futuras por medio del fortalecimiento de nuestros recursos humanos, la protección y renovación de nuestro capital natural, la ampliación de los recursos financieros y el fortalecimiento de aquellas instituciones que hagan posible estas mejoras. En el presente trabajo se aborda brevemente el papel que desempeña la información en función del desarrollo sostenible y cómo el trabajador de la información puede influir sobre su comunidad en el logro de una cultura que promueva la sustentabilidad. Se propone un plan de acciones para la creación de una red de trabajo colaborativo de bibliotecas comunitarias y regionales que permita compartir información y generalizar resultados, logrando entre todos, la elevación de la cultura y educación ambiental de las poblaciones a las que van dirigidas estos servicios |
