| English abstract | This text is a reflection on the adolescent in the world of traffic. The goal is to discuss the risky behavior of youths in this age, related to the high level of traffic accidents. Describes the concept of adolescence, the physical and psychological changes that happen during this period of human development, the drug and alcohol abuse, the influence of the peer group and the importance of family support during this critical phase. It mentions the concept of traffic, the role of the traffic psychology professional and the creation of the Brazilian Traffic Code(CTB). Adolescence is a time of transformation, of much questioning, of restlessness, of search for freedom and self rule. The individual perceives he is no longer a child, but is not yet an adult. He is in a transition stage, and in the midst of all these biological and behavioral changes, typical of this time in one's life, the youth has the lawful right to go through the process of obtaining his first driver's license, even if in many cases he still does not have the necessary maturity to act in a coherent and responsible way when faced with the complexity of traffic |
| Portuguese abstract | Este trabalho é uma reflexão sobre o adolescente no mundo do trânsito. Tem por objetivo discutir os comportamentos de risco dos jovens nesta faixa etária relacionado ao alto índice de acidentes de trânsito. Descreve o conceito de adolescência, as mudanças físicas e psicológicas que acontecem neste período do desenvolvimento humano, o abuso de álcool e drogas, a influência do grupo de amigos e a importância do apoio da família nesta fase considerada crítica. Aborda o conceito de trânsito, a atuação do profissional da psicologia de trânsito e a instituição do Código de Trânsito Brasileiro (CTB). A adolescência é uma época de transformações, de muitos questionamentos, de inquietação, de busca de liberdade e autonomia. O indivíduo percebe que não é mais uma criança, mas também ainda não é um adulto. Está numa fase de transição, e em meio a todas essas mudanças biológicas e comportamentais, características desta etapa da vida, o jovem tem assegurado por lei o direito de fazer o processo de primeira habilitação, sendo que em muitos casos ainda não tem maturidade suficiente para agir de forma coerente e responsável diante da complexidade do trânsito |
