| Spanish abstract | Este articulo es un intento por analizar la discusión sostenida por Quine y Davidson sobre la teoría de la evidencia. Con base en el análisis que de esta discusión hace Koppelberg, trato de mostrar que las críticas de Davidson a Quine no llevan a Davidson a un coherentismo insostenible. Tras este análisis terminaré mostrando que la opción de Davidson por el coherentismo encuentra un importante complemento en su teoría distal de la evidencia. Sostendré, entonces, que la combinación de distalismo y coherentismo es lo que le permite a Davidson ser un realista acerca del conocimiento empírico |
| English abstract | This article is an attempt to analyse the discussion held by Quine and Davidson on the theory of evidence. Based on Koppelberg’s analysis of the discussion, I try to show how the critics addressed by Davidson against Quine are not made from an unsound coherentism. Then I’ll show how the celebrated Davidsonian option for coherentism finds an important complement in his distal theory of evidence. I shall sustain that the combination of distalism and coherentism is what allows Davidson to be realist about empirical knowledge |
