| English abstract | The article investigates the relation between mythos and logos in the poem of Parmenides. The Parmenidean ways of Being and Non-Being are interpreted as structuring metaphors, so that the mythical element – the logic of ambivalence – prepares the way for the emergence of the non-mythical – the logic of non-contradiction. Starting from the idea of the transmutation of mythos, proposed by Couloubaritsis, we uphold the argument that the application of mythical language to the context of the human search for knowledge is the condition for the emergence of distinct linguistic levels, including significant discourse |
| Portuguese abstract | O artigo investiga a relação entre mythos e logos no poema de Parmênides. Os caminhos parmenideanos do Ser e do Não-Ser são interpretados como metáforas estruturadoras, de modo que o elemento mítico – lógica de ambivalência – prepara o surgimento do não-mítico – lógica de não-contradição. A partir da ideia de transmutação do mythos, proposta por Couloubaritsis, sustentamos o argumento de que a aplicação da linguagem mítica ao contexto da busca do ser humano pelo conhecimento consiste na condição de possibilidade para a emergência de distintos níveis linguísticos no poema, dentre eles o discurso significante |
